BURLINGTON, VT

On Thursday, June 21st Vermont Green Building Network (VGBN) and Burlington 2030 District held their summer networking event at VEIC in Burlington.  Ace McArleton and Jacob Racusin of New Frameworks presented “Integrative Carbon Building: Embodied Carbon, Net Positive Carbon and the New Carbon Architecture.”  Ace and Jacob spoke about the climate impacts of green building and mentioned that 60% of carbon emissions are from material production.

Ace and Jacob discussed how to minimize your project’s contribution to climate change by specifying high carbon-storing materials like straw, cellulose, wood and hemp.  The goal of healthy, durable and sustainable buildings was emphasized throughout their presentation.
